Work Rant : 5/4 - 5/7 '09

Ok so Sunday wasn't to good to me as I had to hit the hospital on account that I had super bad allergies. So bad that my fucking face was swelling up big time closing almost my eyes....had me looking like Rocky on fight night looking for Mick to cut me lol I had some nasty sounding lady next to me coughing like she had TB yuck but my PA was hot! They gave me some bullshit pills for the swelling and I was hopping for a shot.

Monday comes along and Dale! My face hasn't gotten better. I felt fine but looked horrible so I asked my boss if I could work from home and he said it was cool. Should have been a big deal but once again our Superstar “Engineer” Cant do a fucking thing on his own. I had to clean up and finish a server build for one of our internal customers. Bad enough right? Wrong! The customer also really didn't know wtf they were talking about when they submited the request so I had to do the work twice.

Tuesday: it was a really good day and no surprises since I had to go to the doc that afternoon.

Wednesday: so I'm hoping it should be a better day...I'm not feeling all that great cuz of the meds they put me on but hell lets try to make it a good day at least right! Well as soon as I login to my terminal I see that my PROD Cluster Farm is all fucking RED! I'm like holy shit this isn't good....my HA component to all these servers was jacked up. So I start working on the issue pulling some tricks up my sleeve and NOTHING the shit still wont come up. So I open up a ticket with vmware to get there help cuz obviously its way to fucked up for my expertise. And guess who has the Mother Fucking Balls to show up...Captain Dipshit and was like “Steven I saw something on google that might be able to help with the issue we're having” I'm like are you fucking kidding me?!??!??! Its cuz of your stupid ass that I'm in this fucking mess....get the fuck out of my face before I throw a chair at you......Thats what was said in my head...lol cuz as we all know I have issues at work and need to be nicer to these dumb fucks. So I just let it go and just continued to work on the issue way pass lunch and I was STARVING if it wasn't for Matt I would of died....Thanks Matt!!! I got the shit fix finally around 4PM :-(

Club Nights: Saturday 5/2/09

So my boy JR and I go to A-town to see a movie. I thought we was gonna go see X-man or some shit like that but we ending up seeing Ghost of Girlfriends Past. I was a lil skeptic of seeing this flix but fuck it since it was free. This movie was the shit I tell you. A double edge sword this movie is: on the one hand it shows us guys that are in the game how we will end up if we don’t change and finally end the game, pick and stay with one girl; and 2 Brand spanking new plays for the old game book! Some real innovating shit lol. Ok time for the cook out at the PolliMansion we get ready and pick up some drinks. Armed with this new knowledge we go in guns a blazing. We were on some other shit…game faces on big time. It was like shooting fish in a barrel it was too easy. In any case we had a great time danced some and drank a lot….2 Drunk phone calls and one I wish I didn’t do cuz I don’t member all that well if I was mean on the phone or not..The other one was great fuck that Ex and she’s now deleted from my phone! Oh and Best Dinner for breakfast was the shit!

Club Nights : Spice Street 5/1/09

So it looks like another 1st Friday was gonna tank cuz no one was getting back to me about if they was or was not going. One of my boys was visiting a girl a few towns away and didn't know if he was gonna get back in time knowing damn well that the girl in question wasn't going to go....so why bother right? In any case I wake up my boy Jr and we're decided to fucking do this but we needed a bigger car since all we had was the 2 seater and if both of us got too tipsy to drive or lucky we would need the extra room lol. Pollo came to the rescue and left early enough from the visit to meet up with us. Unfortunately we got pulled over for doing like 10 over the speed limit..fucking cops! We finally get to spice street and guess what.....NO FUCKING LINE!!!! This is like unheard of, but we went to have fun so fuck it we went in. Some my my girls where going to be there so I was excited. The one girl who I wanted to see was blistered drunk before I got there..ii got a fly bye kiss and that was it for the night. Bumped into my girl Hanna which was super nice since I've missed her so, btw she looked ravishing wow. I meet D's girls and they were all cute as hell and got to dance with one of them which was nice. All in all not a bad night got to see my Girl D make a fool of herself with some random Old DB looking fucker with jacked up white sneaker/shoes. Lol Good times....OH and we had some kickass IHOP for breakfast! hehehehe

So we ended up going to 411 in winston. It was such a random night! No date no agenda just looking to have a good time. My plan was not to go out this week so I could get my shit ready for my company's coming out party but said fuck it I'll go but will only have 1 drink. I had me a nice cold Johnny Walker Black Label on the rocks it was yummy! Lol anyways the rest of the night I had water a new first for me heehhe. Danced some good ass Bachata with a good friend Natalia and she even made me dance some salsa out of my better judgment heheheh. Bumped into my old around da way girl Angela from Colombia and she had a friend who was very cute and was winking at me. I started to talk to her but never got the chance to dance with her next time I guess. Y den my girl Brenda came with a tall drink of water white girl she was ok looking but didn't know how to dance :( some random nigga that says he plays baseball for ws was like "bro are u from DR too" I'm like sure and my parents are from Santiago way in el Cibao what a chump anyways my retarded sister almost killed us txting n driving but now I'm about to get home until next time and member. Keep it locked in!

04/15/09 Work Rant

So my Official Title is: Senior UNIX Administrator. I’ve been known to be the patch bitch or the account audit whore but those are really tasks for Jr admins. My Current role has been changed and now I do all of the crap that no one else wants to do plus the day to day fire fighting. All in all not a bad gig if you can stomach doing mundane tasks like adding ftp accounts. But here lately I'm really a turning into a Custodial Engineer. I must get a pair of coveralls and a mop and rock that at work everyday. I have this guy that took my old job and he’s having the worst time ever filling my shoes. He doesn’t think of the ramifications of his actions…why…because I’m here to save the day. I wonder if I can get those coveralls with a big S on it lol but does that stand for Superman or Stupidman :-(. Like today…homeboy gets a task to bump memory from 1gig to 3gig on a vmware server…not a big deal really right? Well that all depends if we have the sufficient enough of server resources to satisfy the new configuration and the current workload. I have setup my vmware farm with enough resources to handle 1 complete host server outage. With that I’ve enabled DRS: Distributed Resource Scheduler (DRS) continuously monitors utilization across resource pools and intelligently allocates available resources among virtual machines according to business needs. So in short when you boot another vm it HAS to check if it can fill the current workload PLUS the new workload your adding. In a lightly used farm this takes seconds but our farm in getting very busy. Hell memory utilization has jumped 15% since duffalong took over. So hommie gets worried that it’s taking too long to boot…hmm what should I do….cancel the operation midway! And if that doesn’t work I’ll taking it out of inventory and add it back…what are you FUCKING stupid…that would of 1) corrupted the 1 server (that’s kinda bad since it was a production box) and/or 2) screwed up the inventory list of that host server rendering it useless to be able to manage (very bad). Luckily by what only can be divine intervention he waited for the operation to complete! Then of course doesn’t ask me if this is normal or anything….he comments this to another admin who later informs me….what a way to mess up someone’s day…I’ve had acid reflux all damn day because of this. Then we move on to my other blunder. An ex contractor really jacked up a server by removing a core component that is linked to the kernel which controlled swap and disk access. We tried patching the box but wasn’t too sure if the box would be really good to go. So I spin up another box and setup the environment. But as usual no one wants to clean up after themselves and This lonely admin had to archive about 150k files that where older than 30 days. The damn thing got swapped over from a crashed system to a new stronger system in a few hrs and didn’t even get a thanks heheh oh well that’s what I get for being good.

Saturday 04/11/09 Tego Calderon Concert

OK so we start on our journey to Charlotte to see Tego Calderon and boy was it an adventure. We head out to T-Vegas to pick up Jaime and the girls. At that point we swap out cars and ppl. In Peru's car we had 3 girls, Pollo, Me and Peru driving. In Jaime's car was himself, Tito and his boy. On the way down there our drunk asses are killing a bottle of vodka, Johny Walker and coronas. The video's I posted earlier will show how drunk we got. So we get to the club and what do we do...we bounce on the girl that came with us lol Pollo and I start dancing with the sisters (Daniela and Melissa) and we do so for the rest of the night. Melissa and I kicked it off nicely...the girl drinks whiskey how cool is that?!?! lol well all in all it was a great night we all where stupid drunk most of us don't member the artist ever getting on stage. What a great night!

Well this day ended up being good but not what i was planing on doing. The plan was that after a fam thing that i had to do in Clemons we was gonna go down to Charlotte to see the Pitbull concert but that plan went down the tube quick as ppl started to bail out or jump the gun and leave early. My fam. think too an extra 2 hours to finish and it just seemed that we were pushing it way to much and I'm of the thinking if you push something too much and you keep getting road blocks its best to cut bait cuz it wasn't meant to be and something bad might be waiting for you if you keep pushing fate. Not saying that certain things aren't worth pushing and pushing but for hanging out....Na. So we ending up at Greene Street which is always good random fun! So we get there and the VIP line was just as long as the gen. admission line lol. We finally get in and hit the bar...since I was having a shitty night I opted to double fist some whiskey n sprites hheheh. All of the "Banda" was there plus the never failing club chicks we know. So we started to dance and we even took some video which is in the video section of this blog :-) Bumped into some old friends which was great: Devin and Mary always looking even more sexier every day. I also saw a friend that was praying to the trash can gods lol so i left her alone. So there was this one girl who I was very interested in and was getting good feed back from her but from one day to another she feel off the face of this world....no txt/facebook/myspace/smoke signals nuffing returned back....so I gather that she just doesn't want to talk to me. Nothing that goes on in my circles reach happens with out me finding out sooner or later, i find out she went to the beach with her GF and some dudes. Nice huh?!? Well this chick just randomly shows up at the club and grabs me on the way to the bar and started to try to talk to me like nothing has ever happed...fuck that...I ignored her and kept walking. Later she tried to make me jealous by dancing with some fugly looking dude what do I do hhehhehe I take an ice cube from my drink and start moving it across this girls stomach and then follow through with my tongue....god was she pissed lol then off to the dinner to get some food and who do I find there...my tall wife sara who I deeply love. We exchanged war stories and then pranked called my ex lol good times and that's how I ended Thursday night.

EEE PC reinstall part 2

So gOS installed but sucked ass on my 3epc 701. No wireless networking worked at all out of the box not even after installing the custom kernel and everything. So I opted for eeebuntu and it rocks! Every damn thing worked as planned: webcam, bluetooth, even my sprint aircard. I'm gonna re-use this bad boy as my mobile blog netbook.

So I got a wild hair up my ass and thought why not dig out that old Asus 3epc 701 and put it to use. I spent so much time installing XP on the little 4 GB ssd that came with the system. I saw a youtube on gOS and was like hmmm it looks hot and I could really use something easier to mobile blog than my blackberry so why not. Oh my effing god ethernet didn't work out the box nor does wireless and its been 2 hrs and this fucking thing is still trying to update its self. Might have to start all over tomorrow :(

God has today dragged ass :-( I had to create a mirror script for our remote verizon servers. Basicly syncing 2 home directories together with rsync...simple task; sure; was it; FUCK NO! I felt like i was back in nyc on my acoustic coupler connecting to a BBS. Some damn body must of been doing some serious surfing or massive db updates where happening. Something that should of taken like 1 hour to do ended up taking all damn day. Oh well it's a paycheck right?

So we went to artistika lastnight. I had made plans to go somewhere else but had no ride :-( When i started getting feedback that all my friends where going to Artistka i was like wtf to do. Pollo said lets go to artistika and i said sure! Good choice i had a fucking blast. My crazy ex kept bugging me and there was this prick wanna be promoter trying to pick a fight with us but other than that it was great. Diana brought a sexy ass gf named Jessica wow. when we got there Jessica and I started dancing but the DJ jacked up the song set and i went to the bar to get us some drinks. When i got back she was lost lol no worries cuz i bumbed into sarah, claudia and sasha. Danced a bit with claudia then went on the hunt again. At this time I found Dorra and she brought a sexy ass gf named Lily. We had some shots n off we went to dance to hot ass bachata. Time to go home: I road home with Josefina, Diana y Jessica but ask to stop at ihop cuz i was meeting Lily there...she took me home......
